Fall Work & Learn at the Arboretum |
September 26, 2009 arrived cool and overcast, but no rain, and a lot of work was accomplished by the 14 workers, who showed up that morning.
The usual fall clean up was accomplished amid fun and laughter
The trees were checked to make sure that no I.D's, price tags or plaques were missing. We have now started to take photos of the plaques for record purposes.
We were rewarded with delicious subs, salad and goodies for dessert when we finished. And coffee and water to quench our thirst.
Many thanks to all of our volunteers, who were so generous with their time and labour. Great job everyone!
Also Thank You to our favorite reporters Miriam King and Chris Simon for showing up to record our efforts.

Mona Rea and Debbie Ryan fighting with the whipper snipper to make it work. Debbie finally went home to get her own. I seriously think we need to replace the wipper snippers in the Arboretum

Peter Van Loan came issued with clippers and Judith Rogers is showing him how to use them.

Kristina More gets a hug from her mother Agnes More. Maybe we worked her too hard, she was helping with the tree recording

I am not sure this is what Judith Rogers meant when she showed Peter Van Loan how to use clippers. Debbie Ryan's fancy rubber boots, however, were still in two pieces when she went home
